Virginia grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, singing harmony with her guitar-playing brothers. In later years, she was asked to lend vocals to a piano player in Australia, a church in California, and a friend's studio recording. When someone asked Virginia if she was a musician, she would reply, "I just do this for fun when people ask me to."
While involved in Nashville Community Theater, Virginia began studying with local voice coach Susan Anders. During this period, Virginia recorded a jazz demo and got her first gig. But she found herself humming her own tunes on the side. So she took a collection of her original songs to the studio and recorded Seventh Siren. During the recording process, Virginia decided that she wanted to be able to back herself on guitar. Her decision coincided with the opening of the East Nashville School of Music in June of 2007. With the help of her instructor, Danny Ray Martin, Virginia learned to play her own tunes. She keeps on writing, playing, and singing and doesn't foresee giving it up any time soon...
